How Cape Cod got it's beaches
Wave erosion, is what made and shaped Cape Cod's coastline and Beaches.
If it wasn't for the rise in sea level and waves from great storms cape
Cod's costline would just be cliffs.
( Erosion is the wearing away and the removal of any kind of
earth material by the action of one of nature's for agents of erosion. The
only kind we need to talk about is wave erosion.)
First wave erosion starts with the swash of breaking storm waves.
The storm waves almost splits the cliffs horizontally towards the ocean.
Then the storm wash is so strong that it brings the rocks from off of the
slanted beach into the ocean. Making it nice and smooth after a couple of
years.
